In 2020, ERAIKUNE, the Construction Industry Cluster of the Basque Country, worked to align its cluster strategy with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations on 25 September 2015 so as to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal established a number of specific targets that must be reached within the next 15 years.
To this end, ERAIKUNE undertakes to ensure that their decisions and actions guarantee that our cities and territories be safe, inclusive, resilient and sustainable; to guarantee decent work for all, the construction of responsible quality infrastructure to support economic development and human wellbeing; to carry out the transition to low carbon and climate resilient construction; to use the planet’s resources in an efficient and sustainable manner and generate initiatives working hand in hand with different partners.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the master plan with which to achieve a sustainable future for all. They interrelate and include the global challenges that we are facing every day, such as poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, peace and justice. It is important that we achieve each of these goals by 2030 so as not to leave anyone behind.
